'Heroes' kills off Adrian Pasdar. Yeah, last season
We've been teased since early October about a major character death coming to NBC's "Heroes," and now reports are coming in that it'll be... Adrian Pasdar's Nathan Petrelli.
The 23 of you who still watch will doubtless be scratching your heads and asking, "Didn't they do that last season?"
Well... yes.
Nathan was killed at the end of season three during a fight against the power-sucking villain Sylar (Zachary Quinto). When Sylar was defeated, psychic cop Matt Parkman shoved Nathan's memories and personality into the baddie's head; so far this season, Sylar spent a bit of time thinking he was Nathan -- and posing as him as well since he has that handy Mystique look like whoever he wants power at his disposal -- but primarily has been searching for his true identity.
Nathan's death was so apparently settled that we even brought up and then dismissed Nathan as a possibility when the rumor originally surfaced.
Still, both Deadline Hollywood and E! Online insist Nathan will be the character given the heave-ho this season. The news seems to indicate flesh-and-blood Sylar will be reunited with his original, evil personality -- currently shoved into a corner of Parkman's own psyche.
That's kind of a shame; it's been fun to see Sylar explore his potential, including the capacity to do good. Call us multi-layered, but the figuratively moustache-twirling Sylar got boring three seasons ago.

This is the saddest news I have ever read about any of my favorite television characters. Although the "death" of Nathan is no big surprise after all the attempts to kill this intriguing well-acted character during every timeline imaginable, I am more distressed at the story that this fine actor was treated in such a manner. (Supposedly in the past every actor was told in person in advance, not from reading a script.) Adrian deserved better than that. I will miss Nathan Petrelli. I will not miss NBC since HEROES and Nathan were the only reasons to turn to NBC. Long live NCIS and CBS!
Nathan wasn't that great of a character anyways. he just got in the way. He was good for the first season but thats only because he combined plot threads with his family and HRG/Clair now he is just in the way.
But if Sylar's mind is recombined with his body Hiro better correct something in the past that gives Peter back his original ability. Can't have a Super Villain with out a Super Hero. Sylar is another in the way character when he doesn't interact with the rest of the cast and is off on his own side story or if he interacts with the rest of the cast and no one can stop him.
Nothing new. If you think about it they've "killed" Adrian Pasdar/Nathan to some extent in every season thus far. They led you to believe he would die at the end of season one, got shot by what turned out to be future Peter at the end of season two, and then killed by Sylar in season three. He is basically Heroes version of Kenny from South Park. Oh my god they killed Nathan. You bastards.
Now he can go find work on a show that people actually watch.
now they just need to get rid of Peter and Claire!!!
I watched the show last night and was scratching my head most of the time. I'm doing my best to follow this show but it's like they really don't know where they're headed....it's like they think it up as they film it! I think I'll stick to watching House or Dancing with the Stars....
Good riddance. Can't stand him. Or his loud-mouthed wife.
How much more Sylar and Claire do we need? Nathan is one of the few remaining intriguing characters. The show's runners are working overtime trying to kill it.
Are you kidding...Nathan was a one note character and Adrian is not the best actor. I like the direction the show is currently heading and i hope the ratings start to improve, because i dont think it will get re-newed at its current state
Is this show still on TV? It has not been good since season 1
