Heather Locklear on 'Melrose Place': Zap2It readers weigh in
The internet is divided on Heather Locklear's return to "Melrose Place." What do Zap2It's readers have to say?Amanda Woodward didn't have much effect on the ratings for "Melrose Place," but what do the fans of the show say? Our commentariat was pretty evenly split but the "peanut" gallery thinks the show can't keep up with Ms. Locklear's awesomeness.
Heather Locklear: Yay
Dan: Heather Locklear is incredible. She is the only thing that could get me to switch from ESPN to the CW. Seriously dude. Too many storylines, and some boring people. Still Heather came back with a mission and I say well done. I'll tune in again just to see her.
Adam: Heather Locklear really outshines the rest of the cast. She adds so much that was missing from the show, like interest.
Luke: I watched this from the beginning and she really makes the show, even though she has only been in one episode. Hopefully she will remain permanently. Get rid of Riley and Jonah and replace with interesting people.
Josh: OMG OMG!!! I freakin LOVED Melrose last night, it was BY FAR the best episode of the season! LOVEing Amanda, she was kicking arse and taking names. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that the ratings showed improvement!!! VIVA la WOODWARD! :-)
Heather Locklear: Nay
Jason: Are we watching the same show? Ashlee and Colin ARE two of the most interesting characters on the show. Lauren? Puh-leeze. And it goes without saying, Jonah and Riley couldn't be more boring if they tried. David? Yawwwwn. What are we left with? Ella (gross kiss) and Amanda. CW really, really screwed up by getting rid of the only two characters with story-potential and interest: Auggie and crazy Ashlee.
Melissa: Yes, disappointing like so much other stuff
Stephen: Overall I was really really let down by this. I was expecting so much more from the return of Amanda. The ***** was most def. not back....
Heather Locklear: Meh
Peanuts: Having Amanda back is awesome, but these storylines are just so bor-ing that I'm afraid even the great Ms. Locklear can't save that. The writers really need to pick up the pace and get more creative. I agree the note left to Amanda from dead Sydney intrigued---so perhaps they're finally headed in the right direction.

She was great... The QUEEN IS BACK!
She was bad... The SKANK IS BACK!
Heather ROCKlear is more like it! Love her. She absolutely made the show last night. They need to straighten out the storylines man too much going on to follow. Also why wouldn't they have had one scene with Amanda and Michael. For those of us tuning in from the old show it would have reminded us what we loved about it! Too dumb. FIRE THE WRITERS! They suck.
Next week she has a scene with him. She was TOO GOOD last night.
The show should have platformed itself differently. Straight paced soaps are dead. Look at all the shows on TV now - each episode can stand by itself with it's own neatly tied up storyline, mixed with over-arching plots that canvas the entire season. Look at Grey's or Desperate Housewives - they are soapy, but have their own twists to their show's format. I just hope that the CW gives the show and producers a chance to turn it around w/o canceling it too soon.
For the record, I did not post a negative comment that belonged in the "Nay" basket. I was replying to another comment knocking Ashlee, and I posted before the episode even aired.
Heather brings the awesome to Melrose. Put me in the "Yeah!" column. I only wish she'd have the interesting characters of Auggie and Violet to interact, instead of the wooden residents who're left after the ridiculous network purge.
Auggie too dark? Give me a friggin break. Yeah, 'cuz all we wanna see is shorty David trying to romance the 'ho, and Ella mackin' with a skank. See how screwed up the minds are behind-the-scenes?
Heather was awesome as always...LOVED the whole "Sydney's note for Amanda"..and I still say have Sydney alive..her and Amanda squaring off..priceless :)
Jason, you said it right!!
Heather is HAWT! I love me some Amanda Woodward. I do think the script people might want to watch a few of the old Melrose Place episodes though. They need to get a better grip on who she is. Amanda is a mega smart business lady. She would never do something so stupid like ask someone to lie about their past...ever heard of google? We couldnt believe it when we were watching it.And she was never mean just because she felt like it, like busting the teacher. She'd never do that. Amanda underneath it all had a heart, she just didn't like dummies. That's what made everyone love her for 7 years straight. That's what my friends and I think anyway. I am sure no one will read this, but ya never know. I want the show to keep going! At least so I can see Heather.
Oh yeah and whaddup with Auggie getting canned from the show? He's the best guy on there! The rest of them are powder puffs. No edge at all. They should rethink that too!
