Twitter'Gossip Girl': Threesome episode has Parents Television Council panties in a bunch
The Parents Television Council has asked affiliates of the CW to preempt the upcoming threesome episode of "Gossip Girl."The Monday, Nov. 9 episode of "Gossip Girl" features a threesome between some major characters. The council has asked the following in a letter from PTC President Tim Winter to CW Network President Dawn Ostroff and every CW affiliate:
To include a storyline like this on a program that is expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers is reckless and irresponsible. We are asking each CW Network affiliate to use their common sense and preempt this episode ... 'Gossip Girl' routinely depicts teenage characters engaging in promiscuous and consequence-free sexual behavior, and that's bad enough. But will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?We can't say we disagree that "Gossip Girl" routinely shows teenage characters engaging in promiscuity but... that's kinda why we like the show.
Our choice for the threesome? Either Chuck/Blair/Nate or Dan/Serena/Nate.

This makes me think of that Family Guy episode when they get censored by the FCC. The song is in my head now. MAN O MAN. Gossip Girl has never been shy about its characters sexual exploits, why should they stop now?
This show isnt going to make threesomes seem any cooler. Any high schooler ALREADY thinks its cool. Oh and i hate these parents groups. They claim to be about parenting and family but if that was really all it was about they would just stop the kid from watching it themselves instead of pulling it off the air. God forbid they actually do the parenting themselves and make sure what their kids watch.
Yes...let's preempt it because of the sex. The drugs and blackmail and dirty politics are fine. It's sex that is ruining the world. These right wing-nuts drive me insane because they're hypocrits and would rather ignore a problem than confront it. Let's preempt Gossip Girl so we don't have to talk to our children about sex. Start parenting, people.
When Sarah Palin is president in 2013, the CW will be forced to change the show to Gospel Girl.
Everyone involved will be in college, NOT 14 year olds. I reccomend them removing the stick from their butt and getting off their high horse. It's getting old.
