'Dancing with the Stars' finale welcomes Whitney Houston
"Dancing with the Stars" guest-star list just keeps growing -- they've now added Whitney Houston to the season 9 finale.Whitney Houston is joining the ranks of Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah and Susan Boyle as a guest performer on the ninth season of "Dancing with the Stars," ABC confirms for Zap2It.
Houston is slated to perform for the season finale results show, just two days after she performs live for the American Music Awards on ABC.
Houston has most recently been promoting her new album, "I Look to You," but we're hoping she performs an oldie like "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" or "I'm Your Baby Tonight." Wouldn't it be great to have the female professional dancers dress up as the characters Whitney played in the "I'm Your Baby Tonight" video for a group dance? We think that would be outstanding.
The "Dancing with the Stars" final results show airs Tuesday, Nov. 24 on ABC.

It's very disrespectful to say that you would rather hear an artist's old hits than their current music. Just because you are living in the past does not mean that they are. How would you feel if people said they liked you better 10-15-20 years ago?
Hey! Check out this cool photo tagging software called Fotobounce! It can help you sort your images using face recognition! It can also download & tag your photos from facebook & flickr! You can even use it from your cellphone, get it for free at: http://fotobounce.com/index.php?blog
Whitney has tons of new songs, you can get a great remix cd of her new music now on itunes, so get with the times and do better research next time, instead of writing a biased article.
I am Andrea and I am 50, I like music from the 80s... Not new Whitney hits like mIllion dollar bill.... LOSER!!!!!
CORRECT YOUR HOPING SHE PLAYS OLD MUSIC... we love her new music... so DONT speak for us!!!
Once upon a time, an "oldie" by a female meant somebody like Connie Francis, Lesley Gore (both still look great today!), Brenda Lee, and a little later Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, and Barbra Streisand. But times has changed, as listening to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" today is as ancient to listening to "Stop In The Name Of Love" by the Supremes when that song was going up the charts. Unfortunately, it's hard NOT to think that Whitney Houston is in "oldies" status as Million Dollar Bill was originally based upon a 1976 recording entitiled "We're Getting Stronger" by Loleatta Halloway. Her voice sounds like a 60-year old (listen to Barbra's/Aretha's latest videos on YouTube and you'll see why). But it's a legend that is still living unlike Michael Jackson, and I was born just soon enough (1985) to really see Whitney during her Bodyguard heyday. She's more than just an American singer, she's a World Singer, with her American Music Awards appearance this Sunday.
Has she finally kicked her decades old drug habit?!
I hope that Houston has more hits, but it could be that she's done. If she doesn't have any more popular music sales, then it will be old songs that give her income. She'll be very glad for "I'm Your Baby Tonight"! She could sing this in smaller clubs and on cruise ships and never starve.
Well I hope Whitney performs Nothin But Luv, and I didn't Know My Own Strength, this is not a flashback show - Andrea Reiher, nice try tho!
John, you will starve first before Nippy. That is a more realistic assessment.
