CBS picks up 'S**t My Dad Says' off Twitter
A Twitter account is headed to TV -- "S**t My Dad Says" to become sitcom for CBS.Via the Hollywood Reporter. Twenty-nine year-old Justin Halpern moved back in with his parents this past summer and on Aug. 3 launched a Twitter account called "S**t My Dad Says."
Little did he know that in three months time he would be co-writing and co-executive producing this Twitter feed for a Warner Bros. TV half-hour sitcom. Halpern sold "S**t My Dad Says" as a book to Harper Collins last month.
The Twitter account on which this sitcom will be based is made up of comments (often colorful and profane) from his 73 year-old father during their daily interactions. Sample tweets include:
- "Son, no one gives a s**t about all the things your cell phone does. You didn't invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that."
- "You worry too much. Eat some bacon... What? No, I got no idea if it'll make you feel better, I just made too much bacon."
- "I need to change clothes? Wow. That's big talk coming from someone who looks like they robbed a Mervyn's."

Twitter is seriously the biggest example of the dumbing down of society yet.
This will be soooo funny. I can already tell. This dad is great.
This might qualify as the worst idea for a sitcom ever.

Two questions! If there was a remake of Sanford and Son (ideal cast) would you check it out? Second! If there was a movie with Tyler Perry’s Madea vs. Fred G. Sanford, would that also be a must see? Tribute to Redd Foxx 70’s sitcom Sanford and Son.

I can't wait for Texts from Last Night to be optioned by FOX.
i didn't even laugh since people like it. i read it and boring. zzzzzzzz. lol. watching "family guy" or "king of the hill" are funnier.
the fact that you put family guy and king of the hill in the same category is simply
tragic.
