adamlambert_kiss_americanmusicawards_290.jpgWhen it comes to same-sex kisses, it looks like CBS is on board... as long as both parties are women.

During an "Early Show" segment on "American Idol" Adam Lambert's same-sex kiss during the American Music Awards, CBS blurred a picture of the kiss. It then showed un-blurred pictures of Madonna kissing Britney Spears.

Ironically, Lambert had agreed to appear on "The Early Show" after ABC's "Good Morning America" cancelled a planned performance by Lambert in the wake of the controversy.

"We gave this some real thought," a CBS representative explained to Extra. "The Madonna image is very familiar and has appeared countless times including many times on morning television. The Adam Lambert image is a subject of great current controversy, has not been nearly as widely disseminated, and for all we know, may still lead to legal consequences."

Considering all the hubbub, we'd be willing to call the Lambert kiss image "widely disseminated."

And if you haven't seen the performance yet, check it out:

How rediculous and very disappointing of CBS.

great, gays should be banned of tv. what a shame, america!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The CBS exec said they "gave this some real thought"? How in the world could that be true if they say two women kissing on TV is okay, but two men kissing on TV isn't? Hetero homophobic male response is NOT "real thought!" Well, I'm a straight female who is now going to give up my CBS watching after some "real thought" about it!!!!

On behalf of my fellow gays around the world, f*ck you CBS. What a crock of.......

Lame CBS. Lame. There should be no difference and this is just furthering the belief that two girls is okay, but two guys isn't. It isn't a graphic image, so it shouldn't be blurred at all. It is a kiss, for god's sake! Get a grip people!

CBS is getting prudish in general. If you haven't noticed, they also blur the 1/4 to 1/2-exposed buttocks on Survivor.

"Jennifer Vanasco, editor in chief of website 365gay.com, said his performance hurt the cause of gay marriage in the eyes of mainstream Americans 'who think gay life is exactly what (he) portrayed on the American Music Awards.'"

This is still a white straight mans world.

"Homophobe" is a made up word that exemplifies the intellectual laziness that is political correctness.

What legal consequences?
