olesyarulin_290.jpgFOX's pilot "Keep Hope Alive" has added three actors.

The network has tapped newcomer Lucas Neff, Martha Plimpton and "High School Musical" actress Olesya Rulin in its latest comedy pilot from "My Name Is Earl" creator Greg Garcia, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Hope" revolves around Jimmy (Neff), a young single dad who's left raising the baby daughter he had with a one-night stand after she ends up on death row. "Accidentally on Purpose" this is not.

Plimpton will play his mom, who had Jimmy when she was only 16, and Rulin will play the waitress who Jimmy envisions as the perfect lady to help him raise the baby.

Plimpton will have a recurring role on HBO's "How to Make It in America." She was last seen on the "Grey's Anatomy" season premiere.

Rulin appeared as Abby on "Greek," but is best known for playing Kelsi in the "High School Musical" movies.

scottcohen_290.jpgOther casting news:

 - Untitled Jacobs comedy pilot - ABC Family has cast Scott Cohen as a laid-off architect who connects with his underdog middle daughter and Stephanie Childers as  his wife who's more bonded to their overachieving older daughter. We're wondering: Where's the younger daughter in this?

 - "Pretty Little Liars" - Joining the already cast Lucy Hale in this pilot based on the Alloy teen series are Troian Bellisario and Ian Harding. The series centers on four friends who begin getting mysterious text messages threatening to reveal their deepest, darkest secrets. Hale will play Aria, who gets in a relationship with a much older man (Harding), while Bellisario will play another of the friends, Spencer.

martha plimpton was actually last seen on "the good wife," where she's rumored to recur.

DEE - you beat me to it - I was going to say that about MP. I liked her character on "The Good Wife" and it will be fun to see her again - good dynamics with the rest of the cast.
