The American Music Awards airs Sunday, Nov. 22 on ABC at 8 pm ET. However, we're not nearly as excited about the awards as we are about the performances. Tonight's performances include Whitney Houston, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Green Day, J-Lo, Lil' Wayne, Keith Urban, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and Adam Lambert.

If Michael Jackson was still alive would he be nominated? Or even be attending the awards.
Of course not! Just another publicity stunt so people watch and shows how low the AMA's have sunk!!!!!!
It's not about the music anymore and overshadows other artists who have had a big following this year.
I won't be watching, then again, not many do!!!!!
Michael is nominated NOT because he died and this is not a publicity stunt... but because of his death, his record sales have hit the roof. The AMA's is about sales and THAT is why he is nominated!!!
the AMA's are based on airplay and sales period. So no big surprises. What is a surprise is Janet Jackson dressed as an Ewok and Kelly Clarkson as a fat opera singer...she will be appearing at a big symphony in a town near you to make her look skinnier
What the heck is the appeal of Jay Z??? He just talks to music and gets to be on the stage with REAL talent like Alicia Keys??!! And he is married to Beyonce to boot!!?? What the heck is that about?? What a rook!! I do NOT GET IT
Kelly Clarkson is a real talent. She can SING which is what music awards should be about--not how skinny you are!! Janet Jackson has a voice that needs a magnifying glass and is only famous because of who her family is. She is quite beautiful as well but as far as singing... well it is a whisper set to music with a lot of great engineering to make it sound like something.
Man Micheal Jackson shouldnt be on there its stuoid hes going to win because hes dead!!! Eminem Deserves that award and no one else

Michael Jackson has EVERY right to WIN ALL the awards. All of these new entertainers are no contest compared to Michael. He is and will always be the BEST in the Entertainment Industry. So just Leave Him Alone! At least he never broke anything like Lady Gaga to get attention---she has no talent---just a freak show!
