'American Idol': 'Good Morning America' cancels Adam Lambert performance

"American Idol" finalist Adam Lambert has been taken off the "Good Morning America" schedule. Apparently those 1500 complaints about Lambert's performance at the American Music Awards were enough to scare off "Good Morning America." Lambert was slated to perform on Wednesday, Nov. 25 but the concert has been canceled. No word as to any sort of rescheduling.
A spokesperson for ABC News says, "Given his controversial live performance on the AMAs, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning." Lambert previous appeared on "Good Morning America" as part of their summer concert series.
Considering how many people watched the AMAs, 1500 complaints isn't really that many. It's less than 1% of what CBS received after the Janet Jackson boob incident. This seems a little extreme to us. ABC could easily have just asked him to tone it down (which he probably was going to do anyway for a morning show).

ABC obviously stands for All Big Chickens. Whatsa matta, Disney Inc, afraid your viewers might not be able to handle a dude in full glam? Hypocrisy, thy name is Disney.
Besides, it's not like Adam Lambert is still going to be around even five years from now, so give the guy his time in the sun while he's got it.

Don't you get it? It isn't about Adam Lambert's sexuality. Most couldn't care less if he is gay or straight. It wasn't just the kiss - he was demeaning to straight women; straight men; and gay men. He gave America the finger; had a man on a leash; dragged a woman across the stage by her leg; grinded anything/anyone he came close to; and made an absolute fool out of himself. He was offensive, not entertaining as he likes to think. It is easy to be a sleeze. Adam should concentrate on obtianing some class - if he even knows what that is. I loved him on American Idol. I now see him for what he really is - an idot.

Adam is still the iest man alive. His performance wasnt' that great. But I STILL LOVE ADAM. He has an amazing voice. And he is a symbol.
At least ABC/GMA is showing good taste and standards.
Not only was Lambert's AMA performance disgusting, his singing was horrid.
Pointing out someone's TYPO and saying they should offer something insightful, and then you yourself calling that someone an idiot while offering nothing insightful yourself? Not sure what that is. I happen to agree with Ann and think she was obviously just giving her opinion. Adam screwed up with this one. I think people are kidding themselves if they think the same backlash wouldn't be happening if it had been a woman who did this-if Britney Spears grabbed a man's head, pulled it to her crotch and simulated a sex act at a live awards show- you can bet we'd still be talking about it. It was a dumb move on his part. Having artistic freedom is one thing, behaving with no class is another thing entirely.
His performance was AWFUL, that's for sure. But there was nothing remotely offensive about it. ABC should be ashamed of themselves for giving in to this sort of thing. Hopefully those 1,500 extra viewers will help them to compensate for all of Glambert's fans who will now have no need to watch that day's show.
