'American Idol' finalist Michael Sarver signs record deal

michael_sarver.jpgMichael Sarver is going the route of many an "American Idol" alum -- country music.

Michael Sarver has signed a record deal with Dream Records/Universal and says he has his first single, titled "You Are," coming out by the end of November.

Sarver tells the Stephen F. Austin State University paper The Pine Log, regarding his first single, "It's amazing because I got to write it. I've always thought [I would get to write] my first song, and that's exactly what's happening; and then the album will come out next year."

He currently has two songs completely recorded and is working on a third right now that is about the troops, which he says, "I'm probably more passionate about that song than any other one that I've written." You can follow along on his album's progress at Michael Sarver's Twitter page. He tweets a lot with his Idol alums, which is about the cutest thing ever.

He's not the most talented but is Britney? Let's see what's gonna happen with his music because not even the Idol winners are doing well these days. Good luck Michael.

So glad Michael got a record deal. I liked his singing from day 1 on Idol. Congratulations and Good Luck
