'American Idol': Allison Iraheta's 'Friday I'll Be Over U' music video

allison-iraheta-290.jpgWatch "American Idol" finalist Allison Iraheta's fabulous video for "Friday I'll Be Over U."

What a great video. It's like a cross between A-Ha's "Take On Me" and something out of the Dire Straits oeuvre. We love the irony that the born-in-1992 Idol has a video straight out of 1983. Fantastic.

allison-iraheta.jpgIn all the hoopla surrounding Kris Allen and Adam Lambert's first albums, we'd forgotten how catchy Allison's debut single is. We think with the right songs she could become the next Idol female pop star. They really haven't had one since Kelly Clarkson. (Carrie Underwood's too country to be considered pop.) Here's hoping, Allison!

What do you guys think? Yay or nay on the video?

Allison is so ugly, whats up with the hair color, looks like fresh ****.

Hah, sounds like someone is a little afraid of the competition here. Allison is incredibly talented and this video is really fun and colorful. As an 80's child, I'm loving all the references to my era.

Please... She is just an ugly version of Kelly Clarkson and Shakira... Poor thing will be gone in a few months assuming she even gets her 15 min of fame.

Allison has a really bad voice, Miss Thing thinks she is Whitney.

She is incredibly talented. She will be the next rocker chick. Listen to her album. She is excellent with only a guitar on the radio.

she is a great singer....she can sing a whole lot better than some of the other idol stars especially the one that won and she is better than kelly clarkson...

The constant mentions of Shakira by some here makes me think it's the same sad and bitter person trying to bring Allison's obvious natural talents and beauty down. It's ok, there's room in the world for other singers beside Shakira, like her too. So sad that you need to spend so much effort trying to put a talented and hard working young woman down to make yourself feel better.

It's not as bad as I thought. She's definitely not mainstream. Catchy song. She ain't Kelly Clarkson nor Skakira though.

She doesn't have the personality, you know, likeable factor and Simon tried to tell her so many times. As always, he was right.

No personality or talent. She could be the 3rd Simpson sister.
