'American Idol': Adam Lambert's 'For Your Entertainment' previews

The UK Amazon site has 30-second previews of all the songs off "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert's debut album "For Your Entertainment."

You can hear the songs for yourself right here. My first impression? Half the album plays like a set at a dance club, which could be good or bad depending on your taste. The other half is more ballad-y, ranging from really slow to power ballad. The ballad stand-outs for me were "Broken Open" and "Soaked." The 30-second clips of those songs left me wanting more.

I was pleasantly surprised by "Strut," since it was penned by "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi. Did you guys know she's written a bunch of songs? Yeah, crazy.

Best lyric off the album? "I was born with glitter on my face. Baby clothes made of leather and lace" from "Sure Fire Winners." Excellent.

Unfortunately, since this an Amazon site and not iTunes, there is no 30-second clip of "Down the Rabbit Hole," which the Lewis Carroll geek in me is very excited about.

I love Adam Lambert. I'm so thrilled that there is now someone in the music business who I'd travel miles and pay (hopefully not that high) high prices for a ticket to see him LIVE. He's the best thing that has happened in this field in a long time. The anticipation builds every day to see him perform his songs.

LOVED them all! Diversity is great. Not only in the music styling, but his voice change-ups are awesome.
Can't wait for the cd to get here already.

I really liked "Whataya Want From Me," but I will have to hear the CD in its entirety before deciding if I want to buy it. Overall I did like the song clips.

I listen to the snipps and it's AMAZING. every song is different. SOOO exciting. Can't wait to recieve my albom. but first, I am going to down load them all. I just can't wait to hear them all. Adam is amazing in evey way. He is SOOO exciting. OMG

I am super excited to hear the full versions of Sure Fire Winners ("my baby clothes made of leather and lace" might be my favorite lyric ever, lol) and Broken, and I think all but a 2 or 3 of the songs sound really good.

It's pretty cool--all Idol albums seem to be so bland, and this one is not going to be, at all. :)

This CD is totally kick butt!! I am so happy with everything I hear that I just can't stand waiting. Adam's voice is fierce on the rock tune, stunning on "soaked" and "Broken Open" and has made every song something worth listening too! It is better than I ever dreamed and I am thrilled for Adam!! How the hell can anyone have put this great an albume together in a matter of months?? Adam you are a Rock God!! Wow!! Now I just have to somehow wait till the 23rd.

ADAM never fails. He always surprises and amazes his audience. I'm proud to be a fan. From the snippets, I already love Soaked, A Loaded Smile and Broken Open because it's ADAM's voice that dominates. Can't wait for the album.
