Twitter2009 CNN Heroes: Ordinary people, extraordinary impact
Anderson Cooper hosts the third annual "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CNN. Video below.Performing at the event are musicians Carrie Underwood, Maxwell and Leona Lewis. Presenters include Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes, Randy Jackson, Greg Kinnear, George Lopez and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Efren Penaflorida was named the 2009 Hero of the Year for starting a "pushcart classroom" in the Philippines to bring education to poor children as an alternative to gang membership. His award is featured in the video below.
