'Good Morning America': Sarah Palin criticized

sarahpalin_290.jpg
The hullabaloo surrounding "Going Rogue: An American Life," former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's upcoming memoir seems like every publisher's dream and has sent tongues a-wagging.

Criticism was in full force Monday on "Good Morning America," when Palin, who was not present for an interview, was targeted, first by "New York Times" critic David Brooks, who called her a joke.

"You just can't take her seriously," he said on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." "The idea that this...is considered seriously for the Republican nomination? Believe me, it will never happen."

ABC political observer Cokie Roberts also weighed in, commenting that "Newsweek's" current cover with Palin in shorts and sneakers says: "don't take this person seriously...she's just a chick in shorts."

This week, Palin begins her book tour which will lead to even more talk about the former Alaskan governor. In a snippet from her "20/20" interview with Barbara Walters (set to air Nov. 20), Palin goes on to say unnamed McCain aides called her a diva, a whackjob, and a narcissist during the presidential campaign. She believes these former staffers were trying to protect themselves from failure -- failure that Palin takes the blame for.

"At the end of the day, I know what the truth is," she said.

But said former aides are speaking out saying some of the stories in the book don't match the facts. Particular points of contention: Palin's prank radio interview with French president Nicolas Sarkozy and Palin's appearance on "Saturday Night Live." In the former incident,Palin said a top aide yelled at her so much, the force blew her hair back. But aides claim, there was just an email asking who set up the interview. And regarding the 'SNL" spot, Palin said she wanted to do the show to "neutralize" some of the backlash at the moment and "have some fun." But an email shows Palin stated: "These folks are whack...what's the upside in giving them or any celebrity venue a ratings boost?"

Now there's news that John McCain had a conference call with said former aides Nov. 13, saying he'd prefer they stay out of the Palin book coverage and to not engage her. According to ABC News, he told them this will pass, and will pass faster if they stay quiet.

McCain reportedly hasn't spoken to Palin in months.

The media blitz surrounding the book began last week with statements about CBS News anchor Katie Couric, previews of Palin's appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" Nov. 16, and her grandbaby's daddy Levi Johnston's colorful comments. It continues with the Barbara Walters interview Friday on "20/20." Palin's memoir hits bookstores Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Stay tuned for the Palin sit down with Oprah later today.

More like, Good Night Sarah Palin.

Thats a shocker liberals hate Palin any more shocking news zap2it.com would like to report??? Next thing your gonna report is she is on Olbermans "worst person in the world" segment!!!

No suprrise that liberal pundits are douching Palin. They had a great time during the election and now she has a platform in her book to respond.

Ridicule and exageration worked so well on Bush that Fox is using it on Obama

dgh, you're one to talk. Quoting from you: "unless your jealous"

Perhaps if you'd finished elementary school you'd know that the proper spelling in this case is "you're."

Dumb people should not call other people dumb.

BTW, Sarah Palin is a total idiot.

@Intelligence Police YOUR calling Palin an idiot and you waste YOU'RE time looking at people's spelling mistakes on internet postings??? I think you and Palin are 2 peas in a pod!!

Personally, I think this woman is a joke. It has nothing to do with her political affiliation, lack of intelligence surpasses those bounds. I don't really understand why anyone supports her...and I don't say that hypothetically, I literally don't get it. I get that some people approve of her morals, but at the cost of average intelligence? Morals are a good thing whether I agree with all of them or not, but a person unable to intelligently articulate those morals isn't getting any support from me. Also it seems like she is becoming a media hog now, and lack of dignity isn't very attractive either. Hopefully she lets this run the course without going overboard.

@Flip

Fox is total Republican propaganda. There news is Fair and Balanced my @$$. All this channel does is criticize Obama. However, I don't hear any viable solutions coming from this channel or the political party it supports. And if Sarah Palin is the presidential choice for the Republican party then it is in deeper trouble than I thought.

Palin claims that the McCain campaign wouldnt allow her to speak in her own words, but rather, gave her a script. But the fact that she was willing to do so included using alot of inciteful hate speech against then Senator Obama, i.e., "palling around with terrorists." She alone is responsible for such hate speech, and outright lies, and more recently introduced the outrageous claims that the President would set up panels to decide who would live or die under health care reform. Palin reeks of lies and scare tactics and inciteful rhetoric while presenting herself as the wholesome, family oriented victim who wants to contribute to helping Americans. Throw up!

I just listened to the youtube prank call, I actually felt sorry for her. The sad part is she was exposed, trying to play along like she understood yet giving serious stupid answers to made up questions. Then doing almost the same rambling with Katie Couric, then most recently the remark about moving in god we trust on the coin. Jeeze why would anyone want to hitch their wagon to her ???

ooooooooh, you can hitch your wagons to me anytime all you sweet young boys defending little ole me ;) teehee...
