'Twilight: New Moon's Dakota Fanning likes being a bad girl

Dakota Fanning has played the good girl throughout her career, in movies including "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Secret Life of Bees." In "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," Fanning gets a chance to explore her dark side.

The actress plays Jane, a member of the Volturi vampire elite. Maybe it's because the others get cool names like Aro and Caius while she's stuck with plane Jane, but it's safe to say Fanning's character is the baddest Volturi of all. That suits Dakota just fine.

"I think it's more fun to play a bad person than a good person," Fanning told Extra. "She almost blows your mind how evil she is."

She definitely looks evil, or at least Goth-y. Check her out:

Seriously, is there a single day that zap2it doesn't help hype Twilight...

You'd think the original was a monster hit, which it wasn't...

Amazing how The Fanning is turning into a mini-Portia Di Rossi (if that's how it's spelled, don't really care if it isn't), which is not necessarily a good thing.

As for the movie's constant hype, I say eh. Better too much hype about a dark bit of fluff than yet another bloody article about Michael Jackson still being dead. Did you hear about that, by the way? Shocking, really.

Oh, yeah, and the new platform still sucks.
