TV ratings: 'NCIS: LA' bounces back Tuesday

llcoolj_ncisla_01_290.jpgFast National ratings for Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009

"NCIS: Los Angeles" reversed a couple weeks of declining ratings on Tuesday, and CBS once again swept the night's ratings race. Elsewhere, both "The Biggest Loser" and "90210" snagged their biggest audiences since their season premiere.

CBS scored 16.7 million viewers and a 10.5 rating/17 share in households for the night, once again leaving the other networks in the dust. FOX (9.5 million, 6.1/10) finished second, although its totals will change some because it had live sports coverage in primetime. ABC (9.4 million, 6.1/10) was right behind in third, while NBC (8.3 million, 5.1/8) took fourth. The CW trailed with 1.9 million viewers and a 1.4/2.

CBS led the adults 18-49 demographic as well, drawing a 3.8 rating. NBC came in second at 3.2, edging FOX's 3.1. ABC averaged 2.3 and The CW 0.9.

i really do like like the shows on cbs but i watch more cbs shows cause they are the best made. the other networks just have junk on. ndc has one good show svu and okay but old show law and order. fox just has house. abc i'm not if the have any shows on in prime time any more wait they boring dws

It looks like we've got some CW street teamers on board...
Don't worry, zap2it clearly approves of empty hype so you have nothing to fear from them.
Now about Melrose Place, it was heavily advertised (at least in L.A.) with extensive outdoor campaigns.
It failed from the start precisely because it looked like Gossip Girl on Melrose Place.
Of course, it's always karmic to see CW undone by its own ageist approach. ;)

Rena.... That comment was pretty ageist and your obsession with street teamers is kind of strange

1. Dancing with the Stars is for Old People.

2. Glee wasn't on last night, it airs tonight and Baseball was on Fox last night.

3. Melrose Place sucks and isn't original at all. It's a remake and will be canceled after the Heather eps finally air and the #'s don't increase.

While NCIS continues to impress, NCIS LA and The Good Wife are sliding a bit. Where they'll stop will essentially be the determinant of whether CBS has an OK season or not.
At ABC, Shark Tank and The Forgotten show no sign of life (but that won't stop ABC from saying they're having a solid Tuesday by some weird measure).
Melrose Place is at lows that are impressive, even for CW (maybe it's because it's a clone of a clone of Gossip Girl...)
Finally NBC, still can't buy 10 million viewers... :(

@Bella, You are a smart loser.

Tuesday is geriatric television night. The CBS line up is, as usual, suitable for god's waiting room. 'Dancing with the Less-than-Stars' - more of the same. At least 'Biggest Loser' is interesting, but at 2 hours??!??! Time to get off your couches and get some exercise!

Frankly - several of the posters here appear to be network-funded.

Nikki those would be the board morons its best to just point and laugh!!!

I'm NOT an NCIS L.A. fan, eventhough I love the original NCIS. But I must admist that last nite's ep was a good one - the best I've seen so far. Perhaps the writers are starting to get their right niche. Keep this in this direction, and I'll keep watching. So far I've been watching it only because it's sandwiched between NCIS & THE GOOD WIFE - which is also a surprisingly still, good show. Margulies plays her character real well - subdued, humble, yet ueber-smart. Loathe that Diane woman in that show - she's such a conniving, devious snake, if not a ***** as well.... So glad that they've produced at least 2 good shows this Fall - The Good Wife & The Vampire Diaries - and I'm NOT into vampires at all, but the show is enticing, mysterious, and oh, just good...

Oh and I am a Dem, Dave R, so f-off.
