Wednesday night's ratings were significantly cooler than during premiere week, with pretty much every new show and several returning ones falling from their premieres. ABC's "Modern Family" and "Cougar Town" still posted solid demographic ratings, though, and CBS' crime dramas led the network to an overall win for the night.

One exception to the downward trend was "Glee," which actually built its audience over last week.

CBS led the night with 11.2 million viewers and a 7.2 rating/12 share in households. ABC (8.2 million, 5.2/9) finished second. NBC (7.1 million, 4.7/8) narrowly beat FOX (7 million, 4.2/7) for third, while The CW took up its usual spot at the back of the pack with 2.2 million viewers and a 1.5/2.

FOX and CBS each scored a 3.0 rating among adults 18-49 to tie for the lead. ABC was not far behind with a 2.8. NBC drew a 2.1 to finish fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.0.

GLEE is such a great show!
More people should watch it...instead of **** like CSI:Chicago or CSI:San Francisco or NCIS:Phoenix or Criminal Minds:Tampa Bay

sorry...I forgot NCIS:Atlanta

Hopfully the people who tuned in to see "Glee's" guest found the show charming & will continue to watch.
ABC's comidies where better than CBS'. Time will tell if viewer agree.

I think Glee will be a keeper for FOX. I am more concerned about Fringe however. Jul, Criminal Minds goes all over the country. Your scarcaism should have ended with NCIS: Phoenix. Procederals are basic and easy to follow. That is why you have so many of them.

Well their is only a few sitcoms I can watch myself but I would take ABC and NBC over CBS...allthough I do like The Big Bang Theory and that is a CBS sitcom.

Thank God Yes.. For Criminal Minds its going to be going and going :D

Glee is only going to continue to raise. Once the word gets out there about how great this adult style High School Musical is, the ratings will continue to grow. Glee doesn't have the star factor like Modern Family and Cougar Town to bring in the instant ratings, but soon it will be right there with them.

Modern Family is the best new show of the season by a mile.

It's really interesting how Glee is even close to SVU's numbers. SVU was NBC's only ratings star the past few years. I wonder why it's being dragged down so much this year.

Nice...as I suggested last week Glee is growing it audience. This show has a good word of mouth and appeal. I think Fox has a modest hit on their hands!
