With CBS airing a night of repeats and "House" taking the week off, ABC and "Dancing with the Stars" had little competition in Monday night's ratings.

Consequently ABC won the night by a big margin, drawing 15.5 million viewers and a 10.2 rating/16 share in households. CBS (9.6 million, 6.1/9) finished second, a good bit ahead of FOX (6 million, 3.7/6). NBC took fourth with 5.4 million viewers and a 3.5/5, and The CW was up a touch from last week with 2.45 million viewers and a 1.6/2.

ABC also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.4 rating. CBS finished second with a 3.0. FOX, 2.5, grabbed third place, followed by NBC, 1.9, and The CW, 1.2.

No wonder ABC gave up footbool and moved it to ESPN, with DWTS bringing NFL number who needs reality programing, when they can have smart programming on Mondays. CASTLE is sure growing in the ratings, its a much better show than the boring CSI mimi... No wonder mimi is dropping in the rating... Did nbc even have programing on last night... sad,how nbc is the new cw.

Sad how FOX and CBS have given up on Monday and are airing repeats already!!! With ABC being a monday powerhorse, no wonder other networths are giving up on this night, on till dancing with the stars ends its fall season.

MEOW - you are pathetic. You are high on Castle, but even in a repeat, CSI Miami beats it and, contrary to your many, many useless posts, won the 18-49 ratings. I guess your "theory" about old people watching cbs is just that. Go to your "gym", enjoy your day and do us all a favor, do NOT post here anymore.

ABC won the night. That's all there is to it.

18-49 doesn't even bring in more ad money, so why have it be more than a foot note? (although it's amusing to see CBS getting that pseudo-distinction this time).

Overall, audience levels are petering out.

Back to ratings, NBC was a non-entity with Leno delivering the bad ratings everyone but NBC believed it would and Heroes showing that it was dead ratings-wise several years ago while Trauma is yet another bomb.

at ABC DWTS continues to "dominate" through lack of competition as CBS has clearly let its line-up age to the point of collapse and neither Accidentally on purpose nor Big Bang Theory are going to help revive it.

ABC's CASTLE continues to be a time-slot "hit".

CW continues to try and make NBC look less bad as Gossip Girl, the show that every new show on CW is modeled after is the lowest-rated show of the night, while on FOX, Lie To Me continues to squander House's diminishing lead-in.

Overall, a very sad night for the networks as their real hits keep sliding and they have nothing new coming in to shore up the ratings.

Of course, we'll read that this was unavoidable and the result of societal trends, but really, who at CBS thought that CSI Miami would get better ratings if it was shot on video and looked like a soap? Who at CW doesn't realize Gossip Girl is a bomb?

Those blows are all self-inflicted.

david and MEOW, obviously street teamers are trying to be a bully on the boards, but it will not work :)

ABC street teamerrs,Castle is not growing in any significant way.

Correctme if I'm wrong but it was over 10 million last week and is below this week (also when the final ratings are published Castle always loses close to a million viewers like two weeks ago where its average fell to 9.23 million.

It also loses audience throughout the braodcast (9.96 to 8.54).

In other news, NBC's Monday is entirely dead and in years past NBC would be readying its bench. Of course NBC doesn't have a bench any longer so it will let Trauma and Heroes continue to fail to deliver to no strategic gain.

CW's Gossip Girl continues to fail (not that it's news, it's failed since its premiere) but CW promises more shows built on the Gossip Girl model of young, pretty, but not too talented cast acting out superficial stories that very few seem to care about.

I love abc on monday also however I think you are stretching your comments a little too far and not being real. Each network show has a limited amount of new episodes. EAch network decides when and how to schedule these new episodes for the best advantage. Obviously as most of CBS shows on Thursday last week and last night and tonight and tomorrow are repeats, CBS is showing repeats to conserve their supply of new episodes for later in the season(and doing it right before the all important sweeps month). They can then use a new episode against the repeats of competing networks. The same thing for House on Fox. That is all that happened. They haven't given up on the night and for you to make that comment is definitely an overstretch. It's as simple as that.

Well i'm glad to see Heroes up.

I will watch anything than a soapy tv show like CSI:Miami. No, I am not a "teamer" as you so call it. But come on-Miami is an awful show. Even CSI Vegas as long as it's been on is still #5 in the weekly ratings. I wish Miami would go away. At least Castle is new and fresh.

I love Castle but even in a rerun Miami can still beat it,thats kind of sad.We gave up on DWTS when they stopped having STARS on the show.
