TV ratings: Crime pays for CBS Wednesday
Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009CBS' crime dramas paved the way to a ratings win Wednesday night, while elsewhere ABC's 9 o'clock comedies rebounded a little from their numbers last week and NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" grabbed its biggest audience of the season.
CBS averaged 11.3 million viewers and a 7.2 rating/12 share in households for the night. NBC (7.4 million, 4.9/8) edged out FOX (7.3 million, 4.4/7) for second place. ABC came in fourth with 6.7 million viewers and a 4.4/7. The CW (2 million, 1.4/2) was, as usual, at the back of the pack.
FOX narrowly won the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.1 rating, finishing just ahead of CBS' 3.0. ABC's 2.3 was good enough for third, followed by NBC, 2.1, and The CW, 0.9.

CBS is bore. I lik Melose Plase. wish cood watch evry night. Oldies hwo cant even go to gym like wathc Cbs. Boo
Meow, are you for real?? CBS is the best network out there. CW is crap. ABC is useless. NBC has no direction. Fox is fine. I am in my 30s and watch more CBS shows than any other network. You probably like Dancing with Stars crap.
good one fake meow.... story of my life everyone trying to me be and thanks for posting as me too, kinda agree with it, so i am changing people oppinion of those anoying older skewing shows. but yes, cbs overly repetative crime drama's are so boringa nd anoying. modern family was so good last night, it is a shoe in for a golden globe win. abc's wed comedy block is similar to nbs 80s thurs show, great comdedies and quality and ratings.
Im glad Modern Family is still doing well but Cougartown seems to be falling. I know they were both renewed but hopefully Cougartown makes it to season 2.
Meow, if you are some self-appointed rep for ABC, I think ABC is in even more danger than they were before. You are, without a doubt, the biggest moron who has ever contributed to this board.
Loser.
Is it possible that Meow is now hated more than Rena? I'm having a hard time telling the difference between the fake Meow and the real Meow. Kudos to the fake one!
oh Meow, you are a sad strange little girl.
why is rena hated, she is very good at analyzing this stuff. people always intimidated by woman who speak their mind. not an abc rep here, i just like that networth better than CBS and NBC, much better shows. excuse me for not watching reality or boring predictable crime shows.
Given how crappy Eastwick and other ABC shows at 10 are doing, Leno isn't looking as bad as some are making it out to be.
