Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 9, 2009

Friday night's ratings for CBS took a similar path to last Friday giving it the most viewers thanks to new series "Medium" and mainstays "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs." But NBC's justice slate of "Law & Order" and "Dateline" came in second, proving that
scheduled repeats of new series "FlashForward" and "Modern Family" just isn't enough when so few viewers are available.

CBS averaged 8 million viewers and an 5.1 rating/9 share in households. NBC took second with 6.5 million viewers and an 4.4/8 share, ABC (4 million, 2.8/5) was third, followed by FOX (2.3 million, 1.5/3) came in fourth, ahead of The CW (1.7 million, 1.1/2).

In the adults 18-49 demo, CBS garnered a 1.9 rating. NBC scored a 1.5, followed by ABC at 1.0, FOX with 0.9 and The CW at 0.7.

Why did you use a picture of Kate Gosselin? Symbolic of the lack of interest in Friday's generally?

Um, that's Patricia Arquette from Medium, actually.

Kate Gosselin, hee-hee-hee. That was funny.

Ladies and Gents, you can kiss Dollhouse goodbye very soon. Those ratings are horrible.

All of these ratings are terrible. Network TV is taking a massive hit because of piracy and DVR. If people are not watching live, commercials are not being watched, and advertisers know this, and will not want to spend big money. I am thinking we will begin seeing some huge decreases in budgets for shows because the money will not be there.

Obviously Law & Order's ratings aren't as high as they were around Season 12, but aren't the number of viewers gone up since the premiere episode of Season 20?

i need a treatment. somebody please wipe dollhouse from my memory. thank you.

dollhouse please go away.

2 & 1/2 men : keep melissa as a regular character!
