TV Query: Did Meredith Vieira say she's detox-ing on 'Today'?

"Today" co-anchor Meredith Vieira can't celebrate with a little tipple right now. She's going through detox.Vieira, 55, revealed the information to Martha Stewart on the "Today" show Halloween cooking segment Thursday, Oct. 1 when Stewart offered her a glass of wine. Although Vieira accepted the glass, she didn't drink.
"I'm not allowed to drink right now," she said, and when Stewart asked why, responded, "I told you, I'm on a detox."
A little later she added, "I'm not drinking right now. Can't you tell? I'm much nicer. Haven't you seen that?"
The banter continued, and Stewart thanked Vieira for actually seeming interested in the recipes showcased.
"I was interested. It'll all change when I'm drinking again," Vieira joked.

Vieira did not explain why she was detoxing. Inquiries to a "Today" rep have not been answered.

so Meredith Vieira is detoxing...BFD. i mean is that supposed to be a big thing, someone is detoxing? who the hell cares? i don't get the gyst of the story.
This is not Meredith's first reference to her detox diet. Several weeks ago she refused to sample anything in a cooking segment referring to the detox. Today she ate but only refused alcohol I thought detox diets were usually 7 - 14 dyas maximum. It is noticeable however, that she has dropped some weight in the past month. I would say at least 10 lbs. So one wonders if she is on a health kick and on "the wagon" also.
(Whispering) I think that's why this person wrote this....because they're NOT a journalist, but want to feel important anyway....
I saw Meredith in Evanston when she was dropping her son off at Northwestern. She had a baggy top on but still looked tiny--don't think she needs to lose any more weight.
If Meredith is in detox, she needs to stop. She is looking frail and much older in the face.

Why are we whispering? Why are we calling this a journalism site? Isn't this like People and Us Weekly? They just follow the herd.
I worry about her health and at the same time envy her. I am same age, same frame, would love to hear what she's doing. Some people do care. Perhaps I have nothing better to do.
