Scarlett Johansson to become Broadway baby

scarlettjohansson_ironman2_290.jpgScarlett Johansson is making her Broadway debut later this year opposite Liev Schreiber in a revival of Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge," reports the Associated Press.

"A View from the Bridge" is the story of Eddie (Liev Schreiber), an Italian-American man in Brooklyn who works as a longshoreman and is obsessed with his 17 year-old niece Catherine (Scarlett Johannson), much to the dismay of his wife Beatrice. The play originally opened on Broadway in 1955 and was revived in 1997. The revival starred Anthony LaPaglia and Allison Janney as Eddie and Beatrice and won numerous awards, including the Tony for Best Revival.

This marks Scarlett Johansson's Broadway debut. Liev Schreiber has appeared on Broadway previously, most notably for his Tony-winning performance in the 2005 revival of David Mamet's "Glengarry Glen Ross." "A VIew from a Bridge" officially opens in January, though previews begin December 28th.
