WTF? Movie Bites: Robert DeNiro, Jude Law reportedly join 'Thor' cast
Okay, treat this with as much credibility as a Colorado balloon mishap: Reports are swirling around the Internet that "Valkyrie" co-star Matthias Schweighöfer has told the German edition of GQ magazine that he's up for a role in Kenneth Branagh's superhero flick "Thor"... and that Robert DeNiro and Jude Law have already signed on.
To be sure, Branagh's movie has assembled an interesting cast: Natalie Portman, Colm Feore, Stellan Skarsgard, Brian Blessed and stage actor Tom Hiddleston are all on board, with rising star Chris Hemsworth in the title role.
We can even see Law fitting in with the Thunder God's pantheon, though he'd work best as reality-twisting bad guy Loki. (Hiddleston has already claimed that role.) But... DeNiro? In a superhero movie?
Who would DeNiro play? Blessed already has the Odin role. We had pegged Feore for the demon Mephisto, but Bobby D would be great there.
Adding to the mystery: We can't find a version of the supposed interview online, even on the German GQ site. Until official reports surface, we're treating this one as "in a box in the attic."

DeNiro did play in Stardust...haha...wearing ladies lingerie. I wouldn't put it past him
So true, DT. I'd forgotten that silly role. You know, considering Marvel is connecting all of these films, I wonder whether DeNiro would play "Dum-Dum" Dugan, Nick Fury's right-hand man.
