Rihanna's 'Russian Roulette': Not exactly happy

Chris Brown may be out of Rihanna's life, but if her new single is anything to go on, he's not completely gone from her mind."Russian Roulette" was released at 11:23 a.m. Tuesday (the odd time a reminder that her album, "Rated R," goes on sale Nov. 23), and as the title indicates, it's not exactly an upbeat tune. It starts with a few guitar notes and ends with the sound of a gunshot; in between is a pretty dark and brooding ballad that's a good showcase for Rihanna's vocal chops.
The song doesn't reference Rihanna's relationship with Brown explicitly, but its tone and some of its lyrics don't leave a whole lot of doubt as to what she's talking about. Not when the chorus goes like this: "And you can see my heart beating/You can see it through my chest/And I'm terrified, but I'm not leaving/I know that I must pass this test/So just pull the trigger."
Peppy? Not so much. But haunting? Yes. After a couple of listens, it feels like a song that's going to stick in my head. You can listen yourself at Rihannanow.com.

The song wasn't good at all, it doesn't just have horrible lyrics, but it sounds terrible too, it is not at all what I would expect from Rihanna.
why are we even pretending like Rihanna writes her own lyrics? For that matter, why are we pretending that Britney has any input in her music? You think she's writing the music and lyrics? Suuuure... The only reason we know she's actually even doing her own singing is that it's so terrible. If it was all dubbed, then at least they would use someone with a good voice. Britney still sounds like she's 12.

This was just bad. Why does she pronounce trigger like she's a country singer? It's grating and totally annoying. This one isn't even goign to grow on me like some of her other hits. Maybe she should stick to catchy dance tunes.
