Casting Call: Richard Jenkins: 'Let Me In'; 'Lost,' 'Mad Men' stars open Matt Damon's 'Bureau'
Richard Jenkins is taking a role with some bite: The Oscar nominee (for 2008's "The Visitor") has signed on to "Let Me In."
The movie is an American version of the great 2008 Swedish film "Let the Right One In," in which a young boy realizes his new neighbor may not be the sweet little girl she seems. We suspect Jenkins will play a part analogous to the original's Hakan, an older man who takes care of said little girl.
Variety says Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz also joined "Let Me In," but didn't elaborate on their roles. The movie has a tentative 2010 release date.
-- When "Mad Men" get "Lost," do they wind up at the "Adjustment Bureau?" Apparently. Daniel Dae Kim and John Slattery have joined the cast of Matt Damon's sci-fi thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The plot follows politician Damon, who comes to believe a mysterious organization is keeping him from the ballet dancer (Emily Blunt) he's falling in love with. Kim and Slattery will play Bureau agents; Michael Kelly has also signed on to play Damon's best friend.
Filming begins later this fall in New York.
