Reports: No 'Glee' at Macy's Thanksgiving parade

glee_cast_02_290.jpgThe cast of "Glee" was slated to be part of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Emphasis on "was."

The show was preparing to march in the 83rd annual Thanksgiving parade after getting an invite from the department store chain. That, however, happened without NBC's knowledge, and the network later vetoed the "Glee" cast's appearance, TMZ reports.

No one had signed anything when the talks fell apart, but the show's cast and crew was aware of the possible appearance and had started to work on wardrobe and choreography, according to E! Online.

NBC and FOX reps couldn't be reached for comment. Macy's says it doesn't confirm talent bookings for the parade until the final lineup is set in early November.

A check of last year's parade lineup shows balloons and floats featuring Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network characters but nothing from any competing network's prime-time lineup. "American Idol" 2008 runner-up David Archuleta did appear, but it was six months after his time on the show ended.

Wasted my time reading this, thought it was something about a David Archuleta appearance!!

While I'm here, might as well let you know that David Archuleta is coming out with his 2nd album since November, it's called Christmas From the Heart, coming out Oct 13th, and he will be going on tour!!

NBC had to know this would
make them look worse than they
already do. They can't be that
stupid can they?? Really, a two
month old baby chimp could
run that network better than
any of the idiots running
it now.

wow

Yes, NBC. Please exclude one of the highest rated new shows that would likely draw an extra million or two viewers to the parade that's being broadcast on your network, where all of YOUR shows are also being featured. Heaven forbid you expose yourself to new viewers.

what we are witnessing is the NBC death march.

SHAME ON NBC!!
Man, they really are having the worst season ever.

I hate NBC.

Hard to believe this is the network that brought us FRIENDS, SEINFELD, ER, WEST WING, WILL and GRACE...

I remember the cast of "Freaks N Geeks" were in the parade, didn't stop NBC from canceling them.

The Dateline cast will replace them, I'm sure, since that seems to be NBC's "fix" for everything these days. They will be introduced by Jay Leno. NBC is so ridiculous.

Oooooh how I miss Friends. They really should do a movie. Or a one season only return to TV.
