Quentin Tarantino: 'Kill Bill 3' coming in 2014
"Kill Bill" avenging angel The Bride will take up her sword again, Quentin Tarantino claims, though not for a few more years.
Tarantino told Italian talk show "Parla con Me" that he was working on ideas to bring back The Bride (Uma Thurman), though not until 2014.
"I think me and Uma needed a 10-year break," Tarantino said on the show. "I love the character and I think she deserved 10 years of peace. She deserved 10 years with her child, Bibi. But after 10 years something will happen that makes her fight again."
In the "Kill Bill" movies, Thurman's character tracked down a number of assassins -- her former workmates -- to ultimately bring their leader Bill (David Carradine) to justice.
That presents a problem plot-wise; not only was Bill killed, but Carradine died June 4 in Bangkok. Any sequel would need a new target, though buzz has it the protagonist would switch from The Bride to the daughter of Vivica A. Fox's character Copperhead: The Bride killed Copperhead in front of the child, and then acknowledged that the girl would eventually seek vengeance.

I'd be interested to see if he actually uses the scenes that they filmed with the young actresses in anticipation of this sequel in KB3.

I think a #3 could happen. The Bride could, during that 10 year layoff have been training Bibi. Somewhere in that time Copperheads daugther pops into the picture as an already in-training assassin. She tracks down The Bride in an attempt to seek revenge but instead confesses that her trainer is the one that needs to die and ask for the Brides help. The Bride in turn takes her under her wing along with her own daughter and starts her own assassination squad.
There are two great tropes of this sort of movie that did not get used - the blind swordsperson and the one-armed swordsperson. Given that Elle, alone of the gang, does not have her name struck through in the credits, we can take it that she is alive, but blind. And Sophy is clearly alive, and one-armed. They will have reared Copperhead's daughter as their instrument of vengeance.
And wacky hijinks will ensue.
