New trailer for 'The Pacific' on HBO makes us even more excited for it
The more I see of "The Pacific," the World War II miniseries set to air on HBO in the spring, the more excited I get to see the whole thing.HBO has just released a new trailer for the 10-part miniseries, which will chronicle the action in the Pacific Theater of the war as experienced by three Marines, Robert Leckie (James Badge Dale), John Basilone (Jon Seda) and Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello).
"The Pacific" is kind of a companion piece to HBO's fantastic 2001 miniseries "Band of Brothers" (and comes from the same exec producers -- Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Steven Spielberg), but based on the trailer below it won't look or feel quite the same. Even leaving out the obvious fact that the fighting in the Pacific was vastly different from that in Europe, it appears that we'll see a little more of the homefront and the soldiers' return after the war.
What I know, though, is that I'm really intrigued by what I've seen so far. Have a look for yourself.

If I hadn't picked up on the name, there is no way I would have recognized Joe Mazzello as the little kid from Jurassic Park all grown up.
I am also pretty intrigued by what I have seen and heard about the Pacific so far. I don't think having more footage of domestic life and the marines' return home would be such a bad thing.
The trailers so far are just amazing. Band of Brothers was my favorite tv series and im sure, The Pacific will reach the same standard even if it doesn't follow a similar storyline.
