'Jon & Kate' & 'Law & Order'

Jon and Kate Gosselin are inspirations ... for an episode of "Law & Order."

An upcoming episode of "Law & Order" titled "Reality Bites" centers on single dad Larry Johnson (Jim Gaffigan) who cares for his 10 adopted special needs children on his own after his wife is found murdered at home.

As detectives Lupo and Bernard (Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson) probe into the death and begin to question Johnson, they uncover an affair and an offer for him and his brood to be part of a reality show, which would be called "Larry Plus 10."

According to the New York Post, the line between reality and fiction becomes even more blurred when it turns out an Octomom-type character, Belinda Alvarez (Nina Lisandrello), who has 10 kids of her own by in-vitro was also in competition to land the reality show.

Oh, and Larry also has a girlfriend, his babysitter. Those "Law & Order" writers have a cheeky sense of humor.

"Reality Bites" airs on Friday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
