John Wells: 'Southland' in play at two networks

"Southland" may have another suitor in addition to TNT.Warner Bros. TV, which produces the drama, has been shopping the series since its abrupt cancellation by NBC earlier this month, and TNT (which like the studio is part of Time Warner) has been touted as the front-runner to land the show. But according to executive producer John Wells, another network has also expressed interest.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Wells called members of the "Southland" cast last week to keep them up to date on the show's fate. He didn't name either of the outlets, the paper says.
The show, which stars Ben McKenzie and and Michael Cudlitz as LAPD beat cops and Regina King as a detective, had filmed six episodes of its second season before NBC pulled the plug. If it goes to a cable channel, it's likely that its new home will combine those six episodes with the seven NBC aired in the spring. Any new episodes beyond the six shot for this season would likely depend on ratings performance.

how is southland anywhere near a castle type show?
Also im betting the 2nd network is either HDNet or DirectTV 101 channel
wtf does southland and castle have to do with anything lol they are two different shows really.
If they can move it to TNT, it could help them but watch for NBC to dump even more shows between now and the year's end. Leno is next.
If Southland on FX would be such an amazing fit.
But I guess TNT would make sense.
I was really enjoying Southland. I thought it was well acted and had a good story line. It is/was the only police storyline I've watched since Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue that actually is somewhat like policing is in real life.
