Jake Pavelka is your new 'Bachelor'
Jake Pavelka is coming back to "The Bachelor" franchise -- again. The 31-year-old commercial pilot, who was a contestant on "The Bachelorette" last summer, was announced as the new "Bachelor" Tuesday night (Oct. 13) during "Dancing with the Stars." His casting continues a trend in which a person rejected from a previous installment of the franchise gets a new shot at finding love on television.
Pavelka was eliminated midway through the Jillian Harris season of "The Bachelorette," but he's better known for returning to the show later on (with the producers' blessing) and calling out fellow contestant Wes Hayden, who he claimed still had a girlfriend and was on the show for the wrong reasons.
The new season of "The Bachelor" is scheduled to premiere Jan. 4. It will be subtitled -- get ready for it -- "On the Wings of Love."

barf!!!
Can you say cheeeeeeesy?
why am i so happy for this? i havent even seen the bachelor ever but this guy is so good for this...im watching you jake! lol
seriously - SO disappointed. The first season I won't be watching. He's boring, really, really annoying - I can't imagine watching nails on a chalk board all season. Bad decision - this show I truly believe, will lose major ratings this season - coming from a very loyal fan of the show
Yeah! Loved Jake last season. Looking forward to watching him as the Bachelor!
So disappointed he will be the next bachelor, I have watched every season. However, will be skipping this season. I am happy to have another hour free to watch other shows!
I'll be watching - BECAUSE it's Jake...he's a sweetheart, and I think he will make the show better!
I won't be watching because I've never watched this dreck.
This Jake character is a cheesy, corny tool and ABC and Mike Fleiss can kiss "The Bachelor" franchise good-bye with this casting decision. Enough already with the recycling of characters. It's BOOOOOORRRRING!!!! Would it kill ABC and Mike Fleiss to cast, oh, I dunno, maybe a hunky black, Asian or Latino Bachelor????? They do exist, you know?
This Jake dude is just plain weird and a drama queen too. The way he inserted himself in last season's plot, or should I say the way he allowed ABC to insert him back into the show after he had been cut, was so staged and obvious and his acting (crying and then self-righteous, holier than thou indignation about Wes) just came across as totally silly and phony.
If the ratings aren't horrible for this corny dude, it will because people are tuning in to laugh at him and his phony ***. The only positive I can see from this casting decision is that blogger Reality Steve will have plenty of great material to work with. LOL.
What the...? Is there a shortage of good-looking bachelors, or something? Why does every new installment of Bachelor of Bachelorette have a recycled reject?
Guess I shouldn't care. I don't watch either show. ha ha
He's cute!! Maybe I'll watch this time.
