Jackie Earle Haley as Sinestro in 'Green Lantern'? Not so fast
Will Freddy Krueger go up against DC Comics' Green Lantern? All signs pointed to yes until someone, you know, actually asked "A Nightmare on Elm Street" remake star Jackie Earle Haley.
When approached on the Spike TV Scream Awards red carpet, Haley told Collider that he not only hadn't screen-tested for the role of "Green Lantern's" nemesis Sinestro, he hadn't even heard the rumor before that night.
The idea of Haley, who co-starred as Rorschach in superhero flick "Watchmen," as Sinestro popped up over the weekend.
Could the actor be playing coy? Sure. But the slender, intelligent actor would be a great fit for the slender, intelligent supervillain.
Sinestro is a rogue member of the Green Lantern Corps whose powers have taken on a yellow color -- coincidentally, the Green Lantern's one weakness. "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" co-star Ryan Reynolds was tapped in July to play the hero role.
