Hugh Jackman won't return as Oscars host; tell us who will
He sang. He danced. He sat in Frank Langella's lap. But Hugh Jackman won't be performing an encore at the 82nd annual Academy Awards.
Jackman turned down the chance to host two years in a row, sources told Variety, because... well, he didn't want to host two years in a row.
That leaves the door open for other potential hosts. We'd bump Ricky Gervais to the top of the list, but he'll be otherwise occupied with the Golden Globes.
We want to know: Who do you think should host the next Oscars ceremony?
We've got a few ideas of our own, of course.
Ellen Degeneres: Can we name her Queen of All Media yet? (Sorry, Oprah.) Ellen has a hit daytime show, an "American Idol" hosting gig and a great sense of humor. Yes, she's hosted before, but we think her higher profile and continual refining of her skills merit her a second chance.
Neil Patrick Harris: Harris singlehandedly saved the Emmy Awards. He was funny, irreverent and (after losing out on his own award) bitchily lovable. Harris isn't a movie star like Jackman or a comedian like past hosts, but we think that kind of change is what the Oscars need.
Samuel L. Jackson: Speaking of funny and irreverent, Jackson is both. He's also unpredictable and fiery, something the Oscars -- after a string of staid, low-key telecasts -- could use. Just have the bleeper ready, okay?
The cast of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon": The Oscars need new blood. So why not turn to the box-office sensations who know from blood? Adding Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as hosts would get the Academy millions of new viewers, and if -- make that when -- the show starts to bog down, the male stars could have an ab-off.

Hugh Laurie, as House. Hands down.
How could you not put Neil Patrick Harris in the poll?! He is the ONLY person I want hosting the Oscars!
Craig Ferguson.
Not Doogie Howser. He was mediocre at best. I'd rather Conan O'Brien host the next 5 hour Oscar awards show.
NPH!!!!!!!!!!
I will accept nothing less!
I always liked Billy Crystal.
I have been saying it for years: Queen Latifa should host the awards. She is beautiful, classy, funny, a past-nominee, and she can sing. She would be a wonderful hostess.
I want Neil Patrick Harris.... he was great at the Tony's and Emmy, and will be great in the oscar. He will make the Oscar Legen..(wait for it)....dary.... :)
