'Hawaii Five-0' 2.0, Bradley Whitford 'Jack'd up

CBS has ordered a pilot for an updated "Hawaii Five-0," the classic cop series starring Jack Lord, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Fringe" creators/"Star Trek" scribes Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, along with "CSI: NY" exec producer Peter Lenkov are teaming up for the revamped series.

The original show starred Lord as Hawaiian state policeman Steve McGarrett and ran for 12 years. Besides the "Book 'em, Danno" catchphrase, the show was also known for the music from its classic opening sequence.

In other TV news, Bradley Whitford has landed one of the leads in FOX's new 13-episode series "Jack and Dan."

Whitford will play an alcoholic, lecherous and unpredictable cop named Dan who's coasting on one heroic act he performed years ago. He's partnered with the more strait-laced, rules-bound cop Jack.

Proving once again, that there's not an original idea in Hollywood.

Got to agree, Dex.
Of course they say there's only six originail stories, all thats new is the spin.
After all, Jack and Dan sounds like a reworking of Jack Frost, a great british detective series so I will wait and see on both.
Also, didn't they try 5-0 about ten, fifeteen years ago?

You may have seen a different Jack Frost to me, but from what I remember Jack Frost was an ageing, unfit detective who bumbled around until he solved the crime. He certainly wasn't a drunk wild card! And Bradley Whitford is better looking!
