George Clooney cops to cable pilot
George Clooney is returning to television ... in a producing role."The Men Who Stare at Goats" star and partner Grant Heslov's Smokehouse Pictures have teamed up with Warner Horizon for the drama pilot "Delta Blues," which revolves around a quirky Memphis cop by day but Elvis impersonator by night who still lives with mom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Clooney and Heslov-executive produced project has been around for a while. TNT added it to its development slate in May 2008.
Although this is the first pilot for Smokehouse, Clooney has produced for TV before: improv series "K Street" and "Unscripted" on HBO.
"Men Who Stare at Goats" opens on Friday, Nov. 6.
