'General Hospital': Jonathan Jackson gets Lucky
On the heels of news that James Franco will be joining the cast of "General Hospital" next month for a guest run, ABC announces Jonathan Jackson will return to his "GH" role of Lucky Spencer.Jackson played Lucky, the son of beloved "General Hospital" couple Luke and Laura from 1993 to '99 before leaving television for a film career than started strong with the Michelle Pfeiffer drama "The Deep End of the Ocean" before falling off into fare like "Tuck Everlasting" and "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights."
Most recently, he played John Connor's father-from-the-future, Kyle Reese, on the FOX show "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
Jackson will take over for Greg Vaughn, who has played Lucky since 2003.
In the current storyline, Lucky is campaigning for his ex-wife Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) to remarry him. Matters are complicated though, by Elizabeth's feelings for Lucky's half-brother Nikolas (Tyler Christopher).

Greg Vaughn is so good-looking and grown up looking. Jonathan Jackson still looks like a teenager.
this was released a week before the james franco thing..and the fans are up in arms.
Greg Vaughan is lucky - bringing JJ back is a huge mistake. He looks too young for the role now...they will have to take him down to the younger set to date.
Jonathan Jackson coming back is the best thing to happen to this show in years. Maybe now they will stop writting him as a clueless twit.
When Jonathan Jackson left the show to begin with, Anthony Geary said the show should kill off the character rather than trying to replace him. I agree. Just as Jack Wagner will always be Frisco, Sarah Brown will always be Carly and Jonathan Jackson will always be Lucky.
Oh boy so we have to endure Jackson's scenery chewing again. Vaughn was a better, more mature Lucky.
OMG, I love Jonathan Jackson, so happy he is coming back! I will start watching GH because of this!
so what are Greg Vaughn's plans? did he have another offer or is he just ousted? I like him and he does look more mature, but I always liked the original lucky. Good luck to Greg, hope he gets a good part somewhere.
I Like Johnathon Jackson, but he plays Lucky too young,I realized that after Jacob Young took over the role,Greg Vaughan played him very manly as well, well we will see what happens,I hope he does very well, maybe they can bring back Genie Francis as well:)
Okay - I don't know where everyone keeps getting that JJ looks too young to play Lucky. I'm looking at the picture and everything is so natural. There is no friggin way he's NOT ready for this. The man should come back to the character that HE made famous and that wasn't retarded. People are saying that it's not the actor - it's the storyline but if JJ never left - you'd bet your ***** that Lucky would have had better storylines. Welcome back cowboy - tear it up...
Its the same old story; soap star gets a big head, then think they'll get a primetime gig or even make movies only to have to go back to the show that made em. Its usually the person that is recasted that gets screwed.
