'For Your Entertainment': Adam Lambert's debut single

lambert-single.JPG"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert debuted his single "For Your Entertainment" on Ryan Seacrest's morning show today (Oct. 30) and we have the audio for you here.

We give the song a hearty thumbs up. It's got an electronic vibe with a good chorus, it's definitely something you can dance to. He also gets to show off his vocal acrobatics towards the end. Entertain us 'til we scream indeed, Adam.

The song is also streaming on Adam's official website. What do you guys think? Yay or nay on the single? Also, what do we think of the single cover art? It's kind of Michael Jackson meets Hannibal Lecter meets eyeliner, right? We can't wait to hear more from Glambert's debut album, hitting shelves Nov. 24.

At least the girl from Napoleon Dynamite didn't take the picture this time.

This cover borrowed or copied so much from Michael Jackson in the 80s...

Adam's debut album will be released Monday, Nov. 23rd.

Definitely a BIG YAY on the single.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE SINGLE AND THE COVER ART!!! the cover art on the album...not so much.

SO good! I wasn't exactly sure what to expect so I'm pleasantly suprised haha

love, love, love this song!

It's, well, OK. Kind of disappointing. I'd expected something more musically ambitious from Adam, something that certainly had the pop this has but mixed in more rock. And it really doesn't give him a chance to show off what his voice is capable of, which a debut single really should have. I know he was working with producer Max Martin on some of this, and I don't know if this was one of those songs, but it sounds like a leftover from Max's days with Britney Spears. This song could have been done by anyone. Adam deserved better, something more tailored to him, and he should have know this wasn't it.

Just terrible. The single doesn't showcase any of the things the judges and fans supposedly liked about him. It's just typical, over-produced generic pop—nothing to distinguish Lambert from the thousands of sound-alikes out there.

I could imagine Lambert well with something big and dramatic—an updated version of Queen or a more commercially-accessible Muse. Why not play to his strengths and the reasons so many appreciated him in the first place?

I didn't like Lambert on the show and thought he'd essentially fooled the judges into thinking he was different and relevant. I found him contrived and pretentious. Still, I expected more than this.

Eric, I agree that this single is designed to get airplay and attract new fans. And Adam doesn't need overproduction with autotune.

Sorry you didn't like him on the show. I still can't get enough of listening to all the different genres of music he makes his own.

LOVE this song *so* much! Adam's voice sounds AMAZING! The beats & the lyrics are HOT-HOT-HOT!!! This will be a hit on the radio & in the clubs.
