ESPN's Steve Phillips suspended over Brooke Hundley sex scandal
ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips has been taken off the air in the wake of a sex scandal involving him and a fellow employee at the cable sports giant.Phillips, the former general manager for the New York Mets, says he had a brief fling with Brooke Hundley, a 22-year-old ESPN production assistant, and that after he broke things off, Hundley harassed his wife, Marni, and teenage son. In calls to Marni Phillips, Hundley allegedly told her, "We both can't have him."
Phillips has been suspended for a week, a source tells the New York Post. The paper also has statements Steve and Marni Phillips gave to police in Wilton, Conn., after Hundley allegedly drove to their house and stuck a letter filled with details about her encounters with Steve and details about the family's four sons. Their eldest son also claims Hundley posed as a high-school classmate to engage him in instant-message chats about the family.
ESPN has declined comment.
Steve Phillips says he met Hundley in July while both were working a major league game in St. Louis. He told police that "Over a three-week span, I had a total of three sexual encounters with her. Those were the only times I spent any time alone with her."
After he broke things off, Phillips says Hundley started calling and texting his wife. He and Marni Phillips are going through divorce proceedings.

@dgh -- are you kidding? The fact that they're both employed by the same company makes it a work issue, and they had to suspend him. In this day and age people are overly cautious about workplace relationships. And that idiot Phillips has already been through one harassment suit. Some guys really just don't learn.
What makes Steve Phillips so different than Harold Reynolds? Reynolds was fired from ESPN and Phillips was given only a week off the air. Come on people, everyone knows what is going on in at ESPN. ABC owns ESPN, I thought ABC was all about family. What kind of family are they running.
