'Dollhouse' sits out November sweeps
Friday's episode of "Dollhouse" is one of the better ones the series has put forth so far. It's also the last one you'll get to see for a while.FOX has decided to bench its regular Friday lineup for the November sweeps period, which begins Thursday, Oct. 29. "Dollhouse" and "'Til Death" will go on hiatus, while "Brothers" will join the network's Sunday lineup. It's also probably safe to say that the moves don't say good things about the long-term prospects for any of the three shows.
A rerun of the two-hour "House" season premiere will air on Friday, Oct. 30, and "House" and "Bones" repeats will fill the night through November.
"Dollhouse" will return Friday, Dec. 4 with back-to-back episodes featuring the first appearance by Summer Glau. The double runs will continue through Dec. 18, leaving three of the show's 13 episodes to run in 2010.
"Brothers," meanwhile, will move to 7 p.m. Sundays starting Nov. 8. Reruns of the show have aired on a couple of Sundays this fall, and they've done just as well there as the originals have on Fridays.
The network hasn't said when or where "'Til Death" will go, but that's nothing new: The show lasted seven episodes last fall before being pulled, was renewed despite not airing for the rest of season and will now go away again after just four airings.
As has been the case for several years now, FOX has been unable to draw viewers to its Friday schedule with any regularity. "Dollhouse" is averaging only 2.83 million viewers a week, and it's the best performer for FOX on the night. "Brothers" has been drawing 2.51 million viewers and "'Til Death" 2.37 million.

Doll House has some folks who have performed well in other series, but, not this time around.Perhaps the problem is more likely in the writing.
Fox always seems to think eye candy trumps quality.
phritz - It isn't all eye candy. The writing is actually pretty good. From the promos you wont see anything interesting but the show itself is worth it.
This is extremely unfortunate, as DOLLHOUSE is one of my "can't miss" shows, and there's absolutely nothing else on Friday that I care to watch except the lovely Gwen Ifill and WASHINGTON WEEK.
Having already watched every episode of HOUSE this season, I doubt i'll be tuning into the reruns.
Not to be an overly positive thinker but, FOX did this same thing to 'Arrested Development' during its second season for May sweeps (even went further by cutting its episode order from 22 to 18). It was brought back for a third season. It was never treated the best, but at least we got the episodes.
Let's hope the same can be said for 'DollHouse'.
That is so cruel to do that to an excellent show, but if it's a method to keep "Dollhouse" then I have to be okay with it.
FOX is startig to finally acknowledge (in a roundabout way) that it made a major business mistake in bringing back Dollhouse.
My issue with it is that everyone except the most die-hard Joss Whedon fans knew it was a mistake.
Why did FOX bring back this show at all, given that its ratings were so low and showed no sign of improvement?
Dollhouse should be canceled right here and now and Til Death should ghave been given the boot a year ago. Brothers is just horrible and will be the next to face the chopping block. What crap!
After seeing the ratings for Game 1 of the ALCS last week, Fox may want to talk to Major League Baseball about a Friday night package. It would not be unprecedented because ABC had prime time baseball many years ago, but it would be an improvement over what has come and gone this entire decade.
dollhouse sucks any ways, they are doing us a favor
Is there any good reason why the networks still cling to the notion that "sweeps month" matters anymore?
