David Letterman's apology to his wife, staff

davidletterman_03_video.jpgDavid Letterman followed up his on-air confession to having affairs with his "Late Show" staffers by addressing the people he hurt.

During a Monday taping of the show, Letterman apologized to his staff for his conduct and to his wife Regina Lasko, who was his girlfriend for about 20 years.

The apology comes on the heels of the revelation Thursday, Oct. 1 that a CBS employee was trying to extort $2 million from Letterman by exposing the affairs.

Letterman is scum of the earth. He's used his show to politicize his extreme left wing viws, has vilified politicians from the right & left about their sex lives for 20 years now, and all the while was doing far more worse things by virtue of abusing his power with any pretty girl that worked on his show.

He's a sickening individual, a liar, a phony and a jerk and anyone who defends him is an idiot. Letterman should be fired and barred from the CBS studios. CBS, if they had any guts, would fire him immediately. If he were a normal citizen, he'd already be out of a job.

David Letterman makes me physically ill and I will never watch a second of show ever again. What an evil, lying, hateful scumbag.

We all make mistakes but you David Letterman sit on TV and treat other people so badly and say things you shouldn't say why should anybody listen to you. You should be fired.

MediaCurves.com recently conducted a study comparing viewers’ ratings of David Letterman’s sex scandal confession and his apology to Sarah Palin last June. Results found that that viewers perceived Letterman’s recent confession as more sincere than his apology to Palin. Letterman scored higher on likeability, believability and sincerity scales when viewers rated his recent confession, compared to his apology to Sarah Palin in June More in depth results can be seen at:

Thanks,

oh David A., like you were watching anyway, right?! hahahahahaaaaaa....

Dave has been very upfront with his audience, who i am sure appreciates it! pluus, it was the smart thing to do in this case.

David A., must be nice sitting in your lofty tower passing judgment on Letterman. You must lead a perfect life, and I envy you. Oh, by the way, if everyone lost their job for screwing around we have one hell of an unemployment rate. Please root your comments in reality.

Letterman is fine; he never was the “Family Values” type. Yes, he probably cheated on his girlfriend now wife. But at least he does go around claiming he is Mr. “Family Values” like some of our politicians (can you just see the grin on all “Fake News” reporters/ commentators and the Palin’s fringe). This has been a tough summer, for Dave, for our economy but at least he did not end up on the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Sanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).

Wow, the person that calls Letterman an "Evil, lying, scumbag" really needs to take a look at themselves. He doesn't vilify anyone or push his own political views on his show. He has always been a very good person in showbiz and has shown extremely good judgement on how to handle is celebrity status.

Unlike the rest of the media giants, he does not rub in peoples faces who he is, also he never publicizes how much he gives to charities(it's a huge amount).

I have watched letterman for years and always found him to be an upstanding person. He likes to have fun and do jokes, if those jokes go too far he apologizes. Even if it is perceived that he did something wrong he apologizes.

He stated that his sexual encounter with a staff member happened years ago, he has been on air for 30yrs. So immediately some people think he cheated on his wife instead of paying attention to the facts.

Anyone that wants to condemn him for being an upstanding human needs to look at themselves and the things they have done in their life.

Well Mr. David A. it seems you are a hypocrite yourself. You said you wouldn't watch a second of the show, but it seems you have just done exactly that. Burn.

I watched David Letterman's "apologies". I think he went for the laughs -how sincere can he be???

get real it is show biz they all sleep aroud. he has made that clear over the years that he was sleeping around. that why he was so old when he got marred. not becouse he did not love women he did and i think he will still
