Charlize Theron, Tom Hardy reportedly mad for 'Mad Max 4'; Mel Gibson, not so much

tomhardy_charlizetheron_290.jpgA "Mad Max" movie without Mel Gibson? Don't worry, it's not the end of the world.

George Miller, writer and director of "Mad Max" and "The Road Warrior," wants Charlize Theron on board for his next post-apocalyptic installment of the series, with "RocknRolla's" Tom Hardy in the role as ex-cop "Mad" Max Rockatansky, sources tell E! Online.

Gibson, Miller says, is too old to play the role. Ouch.

No word on what role Theron would play, or whether the fourth chapter in the series would be a reboot or a sequel to "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome."

It is a real shame that these comments I have been reading have nothing to do with honest reaction to whether a show is good, bad, or indifferent. It's just a mindless game between several people who are incapable of expressing honest feeling.

I disagree that Mel is too old to play 'Mad' Max. I would love to see another 'Mad' Max movie, but only if Mel is in the title role. Without him, Max won't be Max, and I doubt I will want to watch it.

Chalrize Theron a bad actress...give me a break. Manly....that is the funniest most idiotic comment I've heard in ages. someone is jealous big time. Go figure out how to love yourself honey, and quit being a hater. Really?

Charlize Theron is extremely talented and I don't give that out to actors easily. Mel is too old for the part as much as I loved him in it. It won't be the same and probably won't do as well as the original.

What a bunch iof ***** ! Who carwes !?!

Well...I don't know if saying Mel Gibson is too old is really an "ouch" moment. After all, it's been 24 years since "Beyond Thunderdome."

So, really, after all of these years: Do we need another Mad Max movie? Apparently George Miller is in need of a paying gig these days. Actually, looking at his IMDB history, he hasn't done much in 11 years (except for directing a CGI movie in 2006).
