sebastianroche_generalhospital_290.jpg"General Hospital" bad guy Sebastian Roche will be doing evil in primetime on "Fringe."

Roche, who's played Jerry Jacks on the ABC soap for the past couple years, has taken a recurring part on the FOX drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He made his first (very brief) appearance in the Oct. 8 episode.

He'll be continuing his role as the leader of the human/machine hybrids from the show's alternate reality who are looking for a window into our world. The role was originally supposed to go to Thomas Kretschmann ("Valkyrie"), but he wasn't able to commit to more than one episode because of a scheduling conflict.

Roche has also appeared in "24" and the TV movie "24: Redemption," "The Namesake," "The Mentalist" and done voice work on "Beowulf" in the past couple years.

- Sarah Shahi is getting a new "Life" within the NBC Universal family.

Shahi, who starred in NBC's "Life" the past two seasons, has landed the title role in USA's pilot "Facing Kate." She'll be playing a lawyer who, after getting a divorce, shifts careers and becomes a mediator, the HR says. Sitcom veteran Michael Sardo ("Wings," "Caroline in the City") is writing the script.

Shahi's credits also include "The L Word," NBC's sitcom "Teachers" and "Alias."

It is OK, Mom will still call you sun.

How come every time I read about a potential USA show they always sound like they could possibly be hits, while with most other networks, you can smell a bomb from the development announcement?

I agree with Rena. I watch as many if not more shows on USA, SyFy, ABC Family, and TNT, than on the "Big 4" networks.
