Bruce Springsteen cancels concert after cousin Lenny Sullivan dies
The Boss is in mourning.Bruce Springsteen announced on his official website Monday that his Kansas City performance had been canceled an hour before its scheduled time due to his cousin Lenny Sullivan's death.
"Due to a death in Bruce's immediate family, tonight's show at Sprint Center has been unavoidably cancelled," reads the post. "All tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Bruce and The Band deeply appreciate the understanding of our Kansas City audience and look forward to returning at the earliest opportunity.
"Lenny Sullivan, Bruce's cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last ten years, passed away today at the age of 36. A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family."
TMZ reports that Sullivan was found in dead in his hotel room Monday afternoon. Authorities are investigating.
The legendary Springsteen has had a roller coaster year. In January he won the Golden Globe for best song for "The Wrestler," and a month later he performed the Super Bowl XLIII halftime show. He's been playing the country on his Working on a Dream Tour.
