'What Boys Want' wants Selena Gomez
By day, Selena Gomez works her magic for the "Wizards of Waverly Place." Now New Line wants her to read minds on the side.
Gomez has been tapped to lead the comedy "What Boys Want," according to Variety, wherein she'll gain the ability to read men's minds. Being male, we had no idea our minds needed reading, but there you have it.
If the premise sounds familiar, that's because it's remarkably similar to 2000's Mel Gibson comedy "What Women Want," wherein our hero was zapped with the power to peek in on the female brain.
"Public Enemies" producer Kevin Misher would reprise that role for "What Boys Want," with Gomez' mother Mandy Teefey acting as executive producer. No word yet on when production would begin, or whether Gomez' boyfriend, "Twilight: New Moon" star Taylor Lautner, would cameo.
