'American Idol' finalist Allison Iraheta's debut single

allison-single.jpgPop Eater has the exclusive premiere of "American Idol" finalist Allison Iraheta's debut single "Friday I'll be Over U."

It's a catchy little tune and reminds us more than a little of Kelly Clarkson's stuff. Allison's husky, rocker voice really gets to show off and the song is not over-produced, which is nice. The chorus is, "Cause you got me to forget me/ Ohhhh you know that's true/ You got me to forget me/ So Friday I'll be over you!"

Her album should be hitting shelves some time this fall and if "Friday I'll Be Over U" is any indication, it will be a great album. Allison told Pop Eater, "There will be some ballads and some upbeats maybe you can dance to songs, but they all pretty much come out as a rock vibe"

We are looking forward to it, Allison. Rock on.

No, the song did NOT show off her husky, rocker voice and it was completely over-produced. Why couldn't they just let her siiiiing. Girl can sing Heart, Jive! Hopefully there are other songs on the album that are worthy of her amazing voice.

Are you really surprised that the debut single is pop like? Being 17 and going with Janis/heart like sound is not selling in the industry now, which is very sad.

I like the song, and think it will be a hit on radio.

What a mess for Allison.
Where did she go....she became a robot.

FAIL

She is incredible. She is going to be iconic. Sounds like previous people are jealous. No one has a voice like her out there now. Preordered her cd can't wait.

Haters are going to hate. I like it, I think it's a solid first single for a 17 year girl old who needs to get air play first. It's catchy and radio friendly. She'll have a chance to show off her entire vocal arsenal with other songs and Allison not as talented as Britney? Are you kidding me?

Don't know what happened to my previous comment, but as I was saying ~ loved her on Idol, but don't like this single ~ maybe the rest of the album will be GREAT ~ will wait & see.

Also said that even Jennifer Hudson was booted off Idol, but got her big break much later on! So I wouldn't give up on Allison ~ she definitely has what it takes! But so do others, and she'll have to work HARD just like everyone else!

Allison not as talented as BRITNEY??? LOL!!! Give me a break, if you are a britbey fan you know she DOEs NOT KNOW HOW TO SING! that's why she lipsing so much in concerts! There is always gonna be haters, but at the end those of you who hate don't count, why? 1-cuz you don't even buy her songs, 2-it's ovious that you Dont know **** about music. Otherwise you wouldn't be a nobody leaving negative comments to an awesome song like this one... Don't you haters pretend to know more than HER RECORDING COMPANNY!

Nancy2Heart I guess you're fat and ugly, and you come and talk about Allison Iraheta that was the 4th out of THOUSANDS of people???? Does that make you feel jelous? Who are you? Who knows you (besides) your mom and probably Dad)? Allison is very beautiful, talented, down to earth etc..... WHAT ARE YOU???

This song is pretty good. Catchy. She's a kid, it's a kid song. It fits her at the moment. Everything fits really. Her image, the song. She'll need to distance herself from the Kelly Clarkson image if she's really going to make a long term impression. I think she could though. She's her own animal. I'd love to see her make it big.
