Adrien Brody is a darling of the quirky movie scene. Now it's time for him to get to da choppah. WTF?
The "Brothers Bloom" star has signed on to follow in Arnold Schwarzenegger's footsteps and lead the cast of "Predators," Robert Rodriguez's sequel to the 1987 sci-fi action flick.
Brody -- usually seen in films like Wes Anderson's "Darjeeling Limited" -- will play a mercenary leader who must help a group of human killers survive against the dreadlocked alien hunters, according to Variety. Topher Grace is in final talks to co-star as a serial killer who just happens to be part of Brody's team. Danny Trejo, Alice Braga and MMA fighter Oleg Taktarov have also signed on.
Rodriguez's plot, titled as an homage to James Cameron's 1986 "Aliens," finds a number of humans kidnapped by the predators and shipped to an alien world to compete against souped-up aliens.
We want to repeat this: Brody, who won a Best Actor Oscar for 2002's "The Pianist," will be fighting aliens. Awesome. Filming begins this November in Hawaii.

Well, certainly wouldn't have been my first choice...but it's definitely an interesting one.
Great choice as an action star. Movies like Predators are about the action and fun. Why do we need an Oscar winner that has no idea how to be an action star. Where is good old Arnie when we need him??? Come on his lines where classic: GET TO THE CHOPPER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Where's good 'ol Arnie, Tim? In Sacramento, destroying California's economy. He's the Roman Polanski of Governors. This is a VERY odd casting choice. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt.
if Shia LaBeouf can go up against giant robots, then just about anything is possible in Hollywood.

Oh my God, Beefhead I love You! I could not stop laughing! Nice One! Just when I was trying to think of something good to say! Yes he is the one you throw at the aliens and run while they eat him in mass...! Love that. This whole idea is just so stupid. You think action star-hero, you think Jackman, Downey, Bale, Ford, Stallone, Arnold S., Depp,etc. These guys are built,can do stunt work, good looking, and sexy. Um, where does Brody fit into this? He's not built (not even with steroids taken intravenously), not handsome, he's not built for stunt work, and he's certainly not sexy. There goes half the fan base. He's also not the right type of actor. What's his line going to be? Maybe "I'll get up front, we'll fight our way out of here"? In comes, the awesome Beefheads' line "Throw him to the Aliens to eat and run"! Leave the series as it is. It belongs to Arnold noone will ever replace him. This is a mockery!
