"American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert's CD cover art was released yesterday and the Zap2It commenters were severely divided.There seem to be only two camps regarding the Glambert CD cover: love it or hate it. Interestingly, a lot of the "haters" said they'll still buy the CD, just not in a store for all the world to see.

Tony: I like Adam and wanted him to win AI, but that is the most horrible album cover ever. Talk about going waaaaay over the top - so much that it's a turn off. And it looks like it's from 1985! I would be embarrassed to walk up to a cashier in a store to buy that, so I guess I'll be doing it discretely on iTunes.

LS: No ... please ... no. I am one of Adam's greatest fans and strongest supporters, but I am very disappointed with this cover. I'm open minded and fine with everything about Adam, but I want everyone to love him as much as I do and for him to be a worldwide star, but I'm afraid this photo is far, far too feminine and soft to draw in many new fans. It doesn't entice me or show Adam's sexy appeal. I'm afraid it will be a turn off for many. Sorry Adam. Love you so much, but this cover just doesn't feel right. I think it will limit you.
JettaJameson: Oh. My. God. I love Adam, but that is one horrific album cover. I would never buy that in a store. How embarassing. That's an online purchase only. I'm honestly creeped out.
Ronny: I like his voice, and I don't mind him being gay (I respect that) but this cover is too much, they did wayyyyy too much Photoshop in it and made him look like a totally different person

I'll admit I was kinda turned off by it at first, but it's grown on me. I honestly respect Adam so much for the risks he takes, this being one of them.
But then again, who gives a crap about the cover - its the music that truly matters. I cant wait to pick up his cd November 23!!

Seriously, bravo Lambert. Getting people talking, pushing boundaries, confronting prejudice, etc. He's got more guts than any number of pandering artists in music today. Thank god there's an artist out there who's willing to push societies buttons. How surprising to find that this artist is someone relatively new to the music scene.
For God's sake it's just a album cover. I came from the 60's, 70's, and 80's and have seen much worse from great bands. Does anyone remember the awful hoax the Beatles played on it's fans by releasing a album cover where it showed them all in white which symbolized the death of one of the Beatles? None of them had died but fans around the world were grief stricken. Now that was a rotten album,rotten premise, rotten thing to do.But guess what it sold amazing well. Anyone who will not buy a CD based on the cover obviously has no self confidence and very low self esteem...Who cares about what you put in your cart?My attitude is why do I care what strangers think! Why should you? Look past the cover to the great music that will be on the CD.
Oh Yeh, I never forgot that Beatles cover and no one will forget Adam's cover.He promoted himself well and shows what a showman he is. Isn't that better then a album(yes I am going there) self titled Kris Allen with his normal boring picture on it? Who will remember that 30+ years from now???
