'24' star Kim Raver to join 'Grey's Anatomy' cast

George may be dead, Meredith may be fading into the background and Izzie may be getting fired, but "Grey's Anatomy" is not downsizing.

ABC confirms that former '24' & 'Lipstick Jungle' star Kim Raver has been cast as a recurring character, scheduled to join the series in the November 12th episode.

Though the network is not commenting on story lines, EW.com reports that Raver will play someone who may pose a threat to the blossoming Owen-Cristina relationship.

Raver is no stranger to working with "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes. The actress starred in Rhimes' "Inside The Box" pilot for ABC earlier this year.

Any thoughts on her addition to "GA"?

good for Kim , she is an talented actress . am not fan to GA , but i will see it for Kim .

Cannot stand that actress. She ruins every show she is in. That's the end of Gray's for me. Last straw for a show that isn't what it used to be anyway. Very bad actress, very bad choice.

LOVE her!!!! Kim Raver was the reason I watched 24 and Lipstick Jungle. And she's had great chemistry with a lot of actors. I lOVE HER!!!! Thank you Greys for adding her...

Oh cool! I really like Kim Raver. She was fantastic on Third Watch. Can't wait to see the dynamic she brings to the show.

Please let cancer kill Izzy off the show. K.H. is an actual cancer to the show because in her own little world she's the most popular actor in Hollywood. So she's made a few moderately successful films in the last couple years, who cares? Anyone with half a brain know there are many actors way more talented than her. They should've killed Izzy and Shamu(I mean Callie) off and kept George. TR Knight was the best actor on that show hands down but they under-utilized him big time the last two seasons. Even the story lines have gotten too ridiculous. Shame the ratings are still high because at the rate the show is declining I'm really close to not watching it at all.

I love when people throw in that TR Knight was the best actor on the show. If he is so good how come I never beleived that he was straight? Isiah Washington was the best actor on that show. I still believe that since Izzy is "living" with cancer that by the time February sweeps hits, she'll be a goner.

I like Kim Raver, but there is no actor or actress on earth that could get me to sit through Grey's Anatomy.
