'True Blood': Will Sam Merlotte's life be sacrificed for the good of Bon Temps?

In case your DVR cut off HBO's preview of the "True Blood" second season finale, which will air two weeks from last Sunday, we've got your first look right here.

Seems Vampire Bill Compton's taking the chaos of Bon Temps into his own hands, apparently sacrificing Sam Merlotte to rid the town of the fatal disaster that is Maryann.

"Apparently," of course, is the key word. Because we can't really have True Blood minus Sam Merlotte, can we?

It's possible that Alan Ball might follow somewhat the books has,ex: the hurricane come to Bon Temps which cause the Queen to summon Sookie to her which has sookie meet a witch and bunch of werewolves.
