'The City': Whitney Port returns, see what MTV's got planned
Kelly Cuntro-- er, sorry, Cutrone is back in Whit's life full-time, friends! The trailer for the second season of Whitney Port's "Hills" spin off, "The City," has just arrived and we're thrilled to see the People's Revolution founder figuring into the mix so heavily.
Cutrone is a star. A cranky, bitchy, brutally honest star. But a star nonetheless. And someone's got to bring the drama since Whitney's so freakin' vanilla... kind of like her buddy, Brody Jenner (tee hee).
But of course, Cutrone isn't the only B in the city. Though Olivia Palermo's moved on to working at Elle, her bad I'm-better-than-you attitude is still going strong. Plus, Roxy Olin (yes, the daughter of Ken Olin and Patricia Wettig) -- you may remember her as Stephanie Pratt's friend who helped make a lasting impression the first time Steph and Lauren Conrad met on "The Hills" -- is coming aboard and MTV is dubbing her a "back stabber"...
So, yeah, you going to watch this season?
Debuts September 29th.

More importantly, Kelly Cutrone is back on our televisions again! Whoo to the freakin' Hoo my friend...I am so there!
*yawn* i agree Whitney is a very dull "vanilla," or whatever you wanna call it, it's very bland. and i find Cutrone just plain annoying (and not entertaining in the least). not surprisingly, i bailed on this show last year. anyway, this Roxy character sounds interesting, maybe she (and others?) can spice up this otherwise bland show. i almost can't believe it got renewed.
I like Whitney and Kelly but I don't watch this show and I no longer will watch The Hills, either, now that LC is gone. The City is boring and Whitney and Kelly are the only two likable people on it; meanwhile, there is now NO ONE likable on The Hills anymore AT ALL. MTV seems to think spotlighting the most horrid of people within this social circle is what will draw in viewers but all it has done is push me away. The "drama" was never the reason I started watching all those years ago on Laguna Beach and then on The Hills. I LIKED these people and I rooted for them and lived a bit vicariously through them. Now that these shows are just two carbon copy pieces of reality trash -- just like everything else out there -- I no longer care to see what happens. Good for LC for seeing what it was turning into and deciding to save herself.
I had heard Erin wouldn't be back, but does this mean Jay and Adam are gone too? And what happened to DVF? Did they bail the way Teen Vogue did? It just seems silly for Whitney to be in NY working for Kelly again since she could obviously be doing that in LA. Meanwhile, wasn't Kelly getting her own Bravo show? Is that still happening?
Whitney is a breath of fresh air as opposed to the current rash of self-centered fake women taking over reality tv. You can call her vanilla, but I love her honesty and sincerety. Even "vanilla" people meet up with drama in their life which makes for good tv. Whitney, stay true and you deserve the best. I'm looking forward to more of the City!
*blank stare*
how are they just going to cast all new characters?
